Mobile Design

The mobile enriches sculpture with vigour and vitality, adding new temporal dimension: spontaneous movement transforms space into form. Spontaneity arises from reliance on the wind, rather than a mechanical motor. Movement as an element of surprise, presenting the complexity of space in an organised form.

The wind as a rhythmical freedom as the mobile incorporates movement into an abstract design. Movement creates a constantly changing relationship of forms. Dvora Bertonov: 'The weight is not in the body of the sculpture, but precisely in the spaces between the bars, ie. the air, as factor exerting pressure, trapped within it, is the weight... force in flight invents the movement.'
